“La Grange » is situated in the village of Fonteneau, a small hamlet with a dozen traditional Charentaise cottages nested in one of the valleys between sunflower fields & the predominant chestnut tree forests.
Our family has cultivated the land in and around this village for many generations.
“La Grange” is a traditional farm dwelling dating from the 17th century. The cottage had been falling to ruin before we gave it a second life. The renovation was completed beginning 2006. Though for professional reasons we live in the Paris region, we return to Fonteneau frequently to resource in the calm beauty of the gently rolling countryside.
Angela, originally from the UK, would never have imagined at the age of 8, whilst on holiday in this same region, that she would return many years later to renovate the local patrimony with her husband, a local born & bread.
